Rafael Algorta

Algodon Wine Estates, Legal Counsel

Mr. Algorta has been a partner at Uriburu-Bosch & Associates law firm in Buenos Aires since 1996. He currently heads the Corporate Department, where for the last several years he has participated in fundamental M&A deals for several industries. Mr. Algorta is also an associate member of the Litigation Department, where he specializes in commercial law. He also has significant experience in employment and labor law matters.

Mr. Algorta has held several public offices at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security including National Director of Trade Unions, Secretary of Labor Relations, and President of the National Commission of Agricultural Labor. He served his country as a soldier in 1990 and 1991.

Mr. Algorta is also an active collaborator in the development of Argentina's entrepreneurial activity and as cofounder of EMPREAR (Emprendedores Argentinos Asociación Civil), an NGO organization, he has been instrumental in helping entrepreneurs develop projects. He also serves as a legal advisor to the Entrepreneurship Center of the IAE Business School, where he has lectured at "Naves" Business Plan's Competition, as well as at the ITBA (technological institute of Buenos Aires), ENDEAVOR Foundation, and other exceptional programs for entrepreneurs.

Mr. Algorta studied law at the University of El Salvador School of Law, and went on to attended a postgraduate Business Management course at the University of California, Berkeley, a city that he loves. This educational background has allowed him to apply his experience and knowledge as a lawyer to his acquired business expertise. Mr. Algorta has also attended postgraduate courses in Finance and Law and in Legal Aspects of Management. He has also attended a course on International Labor Standards at the International Labor Organization in Turin, Italy, and in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr. Algorta and his wife, Agustina Bosch, are the proud parents of 3 young boys and a little girl. They enjoy family outings and outdoor activities in their free time.
